Weekend without Aaryanna

Typed a whole chunked of words and accidentally refreshed the page so everything got deleted. Ugh, bummer.

So anyway, I got to spend this weekend without Aaryanna. It felt really weird waking up at home without her running around the house. I could finally sleep in till late noon, but I woke up with... No goal? I didn't know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go. This tiny person has become such a huge part of my life. I used to complain that she drives me insane, but really - I think she's really the only person that keeps me sane. I'm not complaining though, it's always nice to have a break once in awhile ;)

We were supposed to catch Southpaw, ended up over an hour late only to go in and find someone else seating on our seats and got refunded our tickets. I guess it was a blessing in disguise since we probably already missed more than half the show. Haha.

FINALLY met up with the old clique (to celebrate Z's birthday). It has been AGES since I saw some of em'. Okay, actually just a couple of months but we used to see each other everyday!!! :'( A pity I came a tad too late to have the time to catch up with everyone. Can't wait to see y'all again soon, x

Johnson & Johnson x Playdate

About a month ago I was invited to Johnson & Johnson to share about some products - Was so happy to be given the opportunity to speak to so many people and come out of my little shell. If you don't already know, I'm a HUGE awkward turtle esp to people I don't know. I'm glad everything went smoothly and that everyone present was so friendly and welcoming :') 

Kris came over fo' a playdate after I got home that morning. Always thankful to have her as a friend to calm my very problematic nerves. Ha ha ha.

Mod Macs | Rainbow Keyboard For My MacBook!!!

After I posted this picture on my facebook approx 2 weeks back, I recieved SO MANY comments & PM's asking me where & who did it for me. So here goes...

I was SO EXCITED when I first heard about this (from my brother) because well, who doesn't love rainbows (HE HE)!!! 

I'm aware that there are many other gaming laptops that has rainbow backlight keyboards as well, but just NOT macs.

I immediately asked my brother if he could ask the guy to do it for me.

(He is the guy behind my brother's customized gaming pc)

Was so shocked when I heard the price because it's ONLY $60?!?!?!?!?!?! AND he comes to your place to get it done for you!!! W T F - Ikr. I even had to double check with him if he's sure he can earn from this. Ha ha. 

So yes, $60 for 1 colour and $80 for rainbow (up to 5 colours, like mine).

Since my mac was also gettin' pretty slow and laggy, he gave me a dual drive so that he could install an SSD for me AND replaced my battery for me as well. I swear this is the best thing that has ever happened to my Mac baby. It now takes less then 10 seconds to startup and I can take my MacBook out without even bringing my charger. Totally awesome especially since I'm rushing most of the time and always forgetting my charger. Inexpensive as well, compared to shops in SLS. Tbh, I wouldn't even mind paying more since he comes to your place to do it. I honestly don't know how he earns AT ALL???

I really love how fast my mac is and how pretty it is right now especially in the dark!!! 

In case you're wondering, I didn't even need to save or backup anything (though it is of course recommended). I just left everything to him to do.

5 reasons why you should babywear!!!

"Why do you still wear your baby when she can already walk?"

This is probably one of my most asked questions whenever I am out with Aaryanna.

I'm no expert in this aspect but I have worn Aaryanna since she was born and even after she started walking. 

For starters, well, 

I WEAR HER COS I CAN.

Lol.

But seriously.

It annoys me to the core whenever people question me about my babywearing choices.

ARE YOU THE ONE CARRYING HER?

IS SHE YOUR BABY?

If not, then why do you even bother.

Ok, back to the point.

Why you SHOULD babywear.

Or why I babywear. 

1) Because it is frikin' convenient. Duh. 

I can shop around in peace without Aaryanna running about and pulling all the clothes off the rack of the store.

2) It is fun & I love that I still can carry her.

There are SO MANY types & choices of carriers and designs nowadays. It's like buying a branded bag but instead it's for you to carry your baby +++ So. Much. Fun. Really.

Besides, if not now then when? I want to carry her while I still can. When she grows older she isn't gonna want me to carry her anymore :( 

3) Breastfeeding!!!

I used to breastfeed Aaryanna while she was in the carrier all the time and no one could tell?! There was once I was out with a friend and I clipped on her carrier hoodie, he almost pulled it out and asked me "why you cover her, so hot!" - He didn't even know I was bf-ing her *Facepalm*

Okay, tbh first few points are the main reasons why I still babywear Aaryanna.

The rest are just a bonus' and what I found out after.

4) Apparently, worn babies have an advantage when it comes to growth and development. 

"Because babywearing brings the baby up to adult level, they are generally interacted with more than if they were down low in a pushchair. Also, because most babies are more content when they are being carried in a comfy sling, they spend more time in the “quiet alert” state – the optimum state for learning. In other words, they are taking it all in. Before anybody jumps down my throat, I am not trying to say that babies in pushchairs don’t grow or develop properly – of course, they do. I just personally believe that carrying them gives them a shot at *optimum* growth and development."

5) Worn babies tend to cry less.

"Research by Hunziker and Barr (1986) found that babies who were worn regularly cried 43% less, and 54% less during the evening hours. It is speculated that because their needs for physical contact are being met, they have less need to cry than other babies. Obviously there will always be exceptions, but this has certainly been the case in my experience."
