WHAT DOES GIVING THE BEST MEAN?

Sunday, September 27, 2015
Everyone has different perspectives of giving the best for their own child.
What I deem right might not be what YOU think is.

So what does giving the best mean?

For me - giving the best means...
Not giving in.
I always believe "Spare the rod and spoil the child."
Of course, I don't believe in hitting my daughter but I definitely believe I should be stern when needed.

However, I know of people who think otherwise (including my own family members).
They would give in to her at the slightest tantrums she throws or whenever she cries.
Her father would buy her whatever toy she wants whenever he takes her out.

No doubt, there is NO WRONG in giving in to her - But she ALWAYS gets her way and she knows who to whine to whenever she wants something which I strongly feel should not be the case. As much as I don't agree with it, I understand that many feel the need to pamper her.

Ultimately, I feel that giving the best is not giving in to her.
What about YOU?
What do you think giving the best means?

Update

Monday, September 21, 2015
Life's been such a monkey on my back lately. Especially so since I came back from Hong Kong.
I've been so busy with work though. The good kind of busy y'know? The kind that keeps your mind off stuff, yet not stressful in a way.
Don't really have much to update since I honestly haven't exactly been going out much, but here're some snippets from my life from the past two weeks. Follow me on Snapchat for on-the-go updates, I'm super active there! (@XOXOAY)

Overall, I'm still alive and kickin'. And despite all that's going on,
I feel blessed and happy on most days thanks to all the wonderful people I'm surrounded with.
I am so grateful.

Bio-Essence Deep Exfoliating Gel With Royal Jelly and ATP

Wednesday, September 16, 2015
Please tell me I'm not the only one who finds satisfaction in exfoliating my skin?!

Prior to this, I have been exfoliating my face approx 1x/week. But now with Bio-Essence Deep Exfoliating Gel I can exfoliate EVERY SINGLE DAY without hurtin' my skin!!! YAY!!! My skins feels so much smoother and cleaner now.

Exfoliation helps to clear pores of deep layers of dead skin and dirt and lend itself to far better absorption of skincare products applied after, with the active ingredients of the products being able to freely nourish cells.

To cater to women (and men) of different skin types, Bio-Essence has introduced two new extensions to its well-received Deep Exfoliating Gel to maximise the V-shape facial contour effect of the new Extra Strength Face Lifting Cream with Royal Jelly & ATP as well.

It comes in two different versions - Oil control & Sensitive skin.
Bio-Essence Deep Exfoliating Gel (Oil Control) is packed with Royal Jelly, ATP and natural Tea Tree Leaf and Tea Tree Essential Oil to control excess sebum, leaving a naturally matte and shine-free complexion. The inherent anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties also clear the complexion of blemishes and mitigate breakouts. Oil impurities are removed in a single wash, leaving pores clean and clear for the next skincare step.

I also especially love the smell of the Tea Tree Essential Oil :D

Deep Exfoliating Gel (Oil Control) with Royal Jelly & ATP is available at $32.90 (60g) exclusively at Watsons.
Bio-essence Deep Exfoliating Gel (Sensitive Skin) to meet the needs of those of us with sensitive skin. German Chamomile works in harmony with Royal Jelly and ATP to strengthen the skin’s natural barrier against environmental stressors and soothes the skin during the cleansing process. The anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties of the German Chamomile contribute to the calming effects while Royal Jelly and ATP promises to deliver its deep cleansing function. This product also helps to gently and thoroughly exfoliate blackheads and whiteheads, as well as lighten pimple marks and scars.

Deep Exfoliating Gel (Sensitive Skin) with Royal Jelly & ATP is available at $36.90 (60g) Watsons, Guardian, NTUC Fairprice, selected department stores and cosmetic houses.

Aaryanna Broke Her Front Tooth :(

A week or so ago, Aaryanna fell down...

Imagine my horror when I picked up and realized she was BLEEDING AND BROKE HER FRONT TOOTH.
I carried her and rushed out of the house to the nearest doctor.

We were told there seems to be nothing wrong with her, but to see a dentist about her tooth.

We took her to the dentist and were told that she needed a surgery to remove her tooth.
Initially I made the decision to go ahead with it - Since I thought nothing could go wrong since it's recommended right?
I'm the kind that usually listens to whatever the doctor's say. Since, well, they are more experienced in this field. No?

Her father, however, was adamant about it.

Fine.

I asked my mummy friends about it and most of them suggested I go for a second opinion.
So I went. This time, at a more specialized hospital.

Again, the doctors advised us that it would be better to get the surgery done.
We were told about the risks involved, if we were to do it or not.

A day before the surgery, I decided to cancel. Why?

Not only was it because her grandparents and dad was against the idea but  the thought of putting her under anesthetia frightens me.
We felt there wasn't a need to let her go through a surgery, though minor, at such a young age. However, we will have to monitor VERY closely.

Ps/ Aaryanna has been active, as usual.
Still playing, eating and drinking fine.

What if it was your child?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Do you and your spouse have different opinions of surgery or healthcare for your little one as well?
